We Footy fans are being urged to drink responsibly over the finals series with the new
“Just Think in September” campaign backed by all the top eight clubs’ captains. The
campaign, launched in the Herald Sun last week will support the fight against the
alcohol-fuelled street violence that has gripped Melbourne’s streets.
Prime Minister Abbott yesterday attended the official MCG launch of the
campaign, which is being supported by the players’ union and the AFL. Mr. Abbott
threw his weight behind the campaign, warning that one in five men between 18 and
24 years drinks alcohol to dangerous levels at least once a week.
Hawthorn captain Sam Mitchell admitted he would prefer to be preparing for the finals
