The Liquor Regulation 2008 is a set of detailed requirements that provides specific guidelines on responsible service of alcohol, the display of liquor prices, the conduct of liquor promotions and competitions, the requirements for liquor licenses, and the operation of licensed premises. It also includes provisions for the training and accreditation of liquor licensees and their staff, the regulation of bottle shop trading hours, and the management of licensed premises, including security and safety measures. The regulation is reviewed and updated regularly to reflect changing community expectations and emerging issues in the alcohol industry.

The NSW Gaming and Liquor Administration Act 2007 regulates the sale, supply, and consumption of liquor and the conduct of gambling activities in the state. Liquor and Gaming NSW administers the act and is responsible for implementing and enforcing the legislation. The act establishes the framework for licensing and regulating the liquor and gaming industries, and sets out the requirements for obtaining and maintaining liquor and gaming licenses. The act includes provisions for responsible service of alcohol and gambling harm minimization measures, such as self-exclusion programs for problem gamblers and mandatory training for liquor and gaming industry employees. It also establishes the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority, which hears appeals and makes decisions on certain liquor and gaming license applications and disciplinary matters. The act is reviewed and amended periodically to address emerging issues in the liquor and gaming industries and reflect changing community expectations.
