The NSW Law Enforcement (Powers and Responsibilities) Act 2002 (LEPRA) is an Act of the Parliament of New South Wales, Australia. It provides the legislative framework for the powers and responsibilities of law enforcement officers in the state, including police officers, as well as other relevant agencies and individuals. The act sets out the powers of arrest, search and seizure, and the use of force, as well as the responsibilities and obligations of law enforcement officers in their day-to-day work. The LEPRA is designed to ensure that law enforcement powers are used appropriately and that the rights of individuals are protected.
