Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

Craig is a highly experienced first aid expert who is passionate about sharing his knowledge with SECTA students. During today’s class, Craig delivered a professional and engaging presentation that left all the students thoroughly impressed. His years of experience and expertise in first aid shone through, and the students were impressed with his ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner. Craig’s dedication to teaching and his passion for first aid is sure to inspire many of his students to pursue further training and become skilled in life-saving techniques.

The current Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines for CPR for adults recommend uninterrupted chest compressions without rescue breaths. The technique is known as “compression-only CPR” or “hands-only CPR,” and it involves performing 100 to 120 compressions per minute without pausing to give rescue breaths. This approach has been shown to be simpler and more effective than traditional CPR, particularly for untrained bystanders who may not feel comfortable giving rescue breaths. However, if a person is trained in CPR and willing to give rescue breaths, the ARC still recommends giving 30 chest compressions followed by two rescue breaths for children and infants in cardiac arrest. It is important to note that the ARC guidelines are regularly updated based on the latest scientific evidence, so it’s always a good idea to check for the most current recommendations.
Keep going with 30 compressions then 2 breaths until:

The person recovers — they start moving, breathing normally, coughing or talking — then put them in the recovery position;
or
It is impossible for you to continue because you are exhausted;
or
the ambulance arrives and a paramedic takes over or tells you to stop
