SECURITY LICENSE
Initiate an Application for a Security Operative License
If you are engaged in the security industry within NSW, it is imperative to possess the suitable Class 1 or Class 2 security operative license. The flexibility to hold multiple classes or subclasses on a single license is available.
Class 1 licenses encompass:
1A Security Officer
1B Bodyguard
1C Cash-in-Transit Guard
1D Guard Dog Handler
1E Monitoring Centre Operator
1F Armed Guard
Class 2 licenses encompass:
2A Security Consultant
2B Security Seller
2C Security Equipment Specialist
2D Security Trainer
2E Private Investigator
Prerequisites:
Minimum age of 18
Status as an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen
Enrollment in or successful completion of training from a reputable institution like SECTA Training Academy
For Australian citizens or permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens, the application must be accompanied by one of the following documents:
Full Australian birth certificate (not an extract)
Australian citizenship certificate (front and back)
Australian passport (displaying name, date of birth, photograph, passport number, and expiry)
New Zealand passport (certified copy showing name, date of birth, photograph, passport number, and expiry)
Applicants for Class 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1F licenses must furnish:
Copies of valid training documents from SECTA, indicating name, date of issue, and relevant units of competency as specified for Class 1 licenses
Copy of a current First Aid certificate or training qualification with HLTAID011 (Apply First Aid) or HLTAID014 (Provide Advanced First Aid), also from SECTA.

Upon submission of your application, you will receive email confirmation and payment details. If applicable, you will also receive correspondence to visit a Service NSW Centre for the capture of your photograph for the new security license card.
