PROCESS OF OBTAINING A NSW 1F SECURITY LICENCE (CPP31318 CERTIFICATE III IN SECURITY OPERATIONS)

Eligibility
You must hold a current Class 1 NSW Security Licence OR CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations.
You must pass the SLED Pre-Enrolment Assessment at Certificate III Level.
You MUST hold a current HLTAID003 Provide first aid certificate.
You will need to provide your 100 points of Identification.
Registration Process
Please select the date on-line and register your details.
You will then be emailed some dates for you to attend a Mandatory pre-Registration Session.
At this session you will:

  • Need to complete the SLED Mandated Literacy Test at Certificate III level – including a short interview.
  • Provide 100 Points of ID
  • Provide your current NSW Class 1 Licence OR
  • Provide a copy of your CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations
  • Provide a copy of your HLTAID003 Provide first aid certificate.
  • You MUST have a USI (Unique Student Identifier Number) before enrolling.
    Full payment is required at the end of this session.
    You will then be issued with some pre-study learning material.
    Course Process and Completion
    The CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations (1F)will be conducted over 17 days in the classroom.
    Once you have successfully completed the course, you can then apply to update your licence to include the Class 1F.

    Documents for 100 points

    70 point documents
    The following documents are assigned 70 points each and are called primary documents.

    • Birth certificate.
    • Birth card issued by a State registry of births, deaths and marriages, such as the NSW Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages.
    • Citizenship certificate.
    • Current Australian or foreign passport.
    • Expired Australian passport which has not been cancelled and was current within the preceding two years

    40 point Documents

    • Current driver photo licence issued by an Australian state or territory
    • Current identification card issued by an Australian state or territory, such as the NSW Photo Card.
    • You must hold a valid NSW Drivers Licence, Photo ID Card or Customer Service Number from NSW Roads & Maritime Services.
    Course Duration and Method of Delivery

    The course will be conducted over 17 days face to face from 8.00am to 5.00pm each day including a 1 hour break – Monday to Sunday for the first 2 weeks and then Monday to Wednesday on the third week. In addition, all students will be required to undergo self-paced learning both before and during the course.

    NB: Should you wish to undergo training for both Firearms and Close Protection (Bodyguard) you will be required to undergo training for 21 days. You must hold the HLTAID006 Provide advanced first aid before you can commence the Bodyguard Units of Competency. See enrolment details for CPP31418 from the Home Page.

    Course Fee

    Course fee is $2000.00. Full payment will be required at the completion of the Pre-Enrolment Process.

    NB: If you are enrolling in both CPP31318 Security II in Security Operations (1F) and the CPP31418 Certificate II in Close Protection (1B) the fee will be $2500.00.

    What to Wear to the Course

    You must attend the course in neat, clean and tidy clothing. There will be many simulation assessments whereby you are expected to dress as a professional security officer and will be assessed as such.

    Personal hygiene is very important when you are working in a group environment for any period of time. Please ensure that you use deodorant each day.

    You must attend all classes in enclosed footwear – ladies included.

    How to obtain HLTAID003 first aid certificate?

    If you do not hold this qualification, please book into one of SECTA’s First Aid courses which are conducted regularly on Saturdays and Sundays before commencing your security training. Return to the home page and Click on Courses – First Aid.

    Course Structure

    The 14 Units of Competency for CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations have been grouped into 5 Clusters. It is expected that you attend and complete all sessions for the 5 clusters listed below.

    What VISA types are eligible?

    You must be an Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen or hold a Visa that entitles you to full work rights in Australia (persons on Student or Holiday Visa are not permitted to undergo security training)

    How do I get a job?

    SECTA can assist you with employment through the FREE Job Agency. During the course you will be offered the opportunity of undergoing a Video Job Interview which is then made available to over 600 security companies that use the SECTA Job Agency. The jobs available through this agency include cash-in-transit, armed guard duties, bodyguarding, mobile and static work, crowd control duties, airport and retail security, marine security, concierge work as well as schools and hospitals.

    PLEASE NOTE: From 1 January 2015 all students studying qualifications are required to Register for a Unique Student Identifier. (USI)
